(Well not exactly a "phenomenon" but ...) This sight greeted Ye Olde Photographer when he walked into the L. L Bean store in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, near Allentown. She was helping promote a preservation group and was amazingly docile.
One of the stinkiest animals. We had a female come into the vet emer clinic I worked at that was killed by a car. We checked her pouch for babies, and she had some tiny ones. I took them home so I could transport them to Lindsay Wildlife Museum the next day, man did they stink up my place. Nice capture of her, she looks like she has been well cared for, her coat looks soft and fluffy.
