This tool has four brass nails with heads removed set into a
hole in the end of dowel. One can randomly tap the points to
generate a texture. That has been done in the background around
the leaf in the example shown. The final piece had a blue
glaze brushed over the carving then wipe off carefully. A clear
overglaze finishes the porcelain piece with a sealed, shiny surface.
