This is an 8.0 x 10 inch image taken 30 July 2014 on Fuji HR-T X-ray film with a
D. W. Thomas designed and built pinhole camera. The print image is contact printed on
a 9.5 x 11 piece of EFKE Varycon paper and mounted behind an 8.4 x 10.4 mat cutout in
a 14x15 inch frame. The image shows an 1824 vintage multi-arch stone structure that
carried canal boats ind a section of the Schuylkill Navigation Company canal over the
Allegheny Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River, outside of Gibraltar, Berks Co. Pa.
In September 2014 this was accepted into the 2014 Scenes of the Schuylkill River
Heritage Area juried art exhibition and sale where it was awarded 3rd Prize.
December 2014, this photo was on loan for an exhibit at the Berks History Center,
"Rollin' on the River: the Schuylkill River and its Canals," through December 2015, in Reading, Pa.
