Perhaps the simplest method to print a negative is a contact print. The negative is laid
down against the surface of a piece of print paper and covered with a weighted transparent
sheet to maintain tight contact between the negative and the paper surface. The print is
then exposed by light passing through the negative. The light source can be an enlarger for
those who have one. A timer may be used to control the light duration, just as with enlarging.
Since the negative sets the print size (1:1), large negatives tend to be preferred.
