An interesting take on combining two blocks of clay where one is dryer than the
other. The blocks are sliced into slabs with the wire, then the slabs interleaved;
wet, dry, wet, dry, etc. After the first rocking of wedging, the wire is used to
slice the combined chunk vertically through the slabs. The two halves are stuck
together with convex side against convex side to avoid air entrapment. A few repeats
of this operation greatly reduces the size of the original segments to ease blending.
