Behind the Light Baffle

Here we see the camera, mounted on a tripod, and with lens poked through a
slit in a dark cloth hung on a background stand. This provides a baffle to prevent
shiny portions of camera or tripod from reflecting off the glass of paintings framed
behind glass. Visible at the left are two softboxes mounted on a light stand,
mirroring a similar rig on the opposite side. The lights are generally set about
45 degrees off the lens axis to keep reflections away from the camera view.
