This is a grand experiment.
Step 1 is to evaluate the shrinkage characteristics of a specific clay in order to be able to predict and hold fairly accurate dimensions on the finished pieces, in this case, decorative tiles intended to be interspersed with commercial tiles as accents in a kitchen backsplash.
Step two is to produce some tiles with relief carved food or kitchen objects on them.
