This was a short visit to the National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia, Pennsylvania, south of Harrisburg and west of Lancaster a few miles. This is also the headquarters for the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors who have a library and a school of horology here.
The museum has thousands of watches and clocks covering a good bit of the world and going back in time by a millennium or two. They also have some of the machines used in production of watch parts on exhibit, as well as a detailed video of the many processes involved in producing a fine pocket watch. There are a number of models supplying hands-on demos for visitors.
