For this year we calibrated the rangefinder to follow up on last year's CLA.
For Argust 8th, Ye Olde Photographer visited Valley Forge National Historical Park, a nearby site that was of great importance during the American Revolutionary War. George Washington and his troops camped here during late 1777 and early 1778 while they reorganized to take on the British.
To keep the Argus C-3 company, we also brought the Bronica SQ-A loaded with Kodak 400TX B&W. We used a carbon fiber tripod equipped with quick release fittings to make it easy to swap cameras. The respective shots are easy to tell apart, the C-3 shots are color in 3:2 aspect ratio. The SQ-A shots are B&W and square.
August 8th was also the first (and perhaps last?) annual Worldwide Analog Photography Day; a copy of the B&W shot of General Varnum's Quarters was submitted for that event.
The C-3 was loaded with some Fujifilm 200 color print film. A few extra bucks got a CD from the processor, a local pro lab, so we had 3088 x 2048 scans to reduce from. The SQ-A shots, being 6x6 cm medium format, are scanned from the negatives on an Epson 3200. The "official" Argust 8th results are on line HERE.
