Shot with Nikkor 70-200VR plus Canon 500D closeup attachment.
On this version I used the Photoshop levels command to tone down some bright areas of the picture.
I haven't used a reversed lens setup. It would probably be awfully bulky to use. The 70-200 is a big lens to use for macros as it is.
I have been quite happy with the results from the 70-200VR plus the Canon 500D. I am amazed and pleased at how sharp the closeups are from this combo. This turtle picture is in a whole gallery of macros taken with the 70-200 plus 500D. (http://www.pbase.com/duncanc/nikkor_70200vr_macros)

i love these macros, i also have the 70-200 vr, i was wondering is the 500d close up attachment more functional?
or would a reversed 50 mm be better?
Do you have any experienec with this other combination?
thanks

Nice photo. You don't often see a turtle image and this is a nice treat.
