Fractal Floatingpoint Failure Frustum Fun.png

I call this next (3D, you need glasses) image “Fractal Floatingpoint Failure Frustum Fun”. It’s an image where I pushed the limits of the machine’s floating point precision past the breaking point. It shows what’s called “quantization error” where single bit changes in the floating point value create discrete steps in the plot. That’s what causes the Minecraft-looking blockiness in the resulting image.

Normally the floating point failure trashes the resolution of the image and it's not worth saving, but I rather like the effect in this case.
