金閣寺原名鹿苑寺，以足利義滿法名所命，
是幕府時代大將軍足利義滿出家入道之處，
1950年被一21歲的見習僧人放火自焚所毀
今為臨濟宗相國寺派的寺院，也是三島由紀夫筆下小說的場景之一
