Armenia's transition to Christianity from paganism was unique in that it was peaceful. Some of the rituals are maintained. On the day we visited Geghard in February 2001, children were being blessed with crosses drawn on their foreheads with Chicken blood. The cross was not to be washed off for a specificed period of time (at least a day..can't recall the details).
