It's springtime in the Valley of the Sun, and time for NASCAR racing at Phoenix International Raceway. This was the season's first Busch/Nextel weekend at PIR, the second set of races scheduled to be run in November. It was also the first time that the races were run at night, under the track's new lighting system. On Friday night, Greg Biffle won the Busch series race which was marked by 14 caution periods and two red flags. Kurt Busch won Saturday's Nextel Cup race, leading 219 of 312 laps.
