Meg and her little dog Sweet Pea visited us over the New Year's Day 2013 holiday. Meg gave us a tour of a riding stable where she spent a day training and visiting with friends Chris, Bev and Becky and we later all went out to dinner together. While Meg was at the stable, Judy and Ed attended the ASU-Coppin State men's basketball game (ASU won 68-52). At halftime, mascots from various sports teams in the Phoenix area entertained the crowd and we got a handshake from Big Red, the Arizona Cardinals mascot. We believe that Big Red survived the post-season purge, whereas coach Ken Whisenhunt and a number of other executives did not after their abysmal 5-11 2012 record. All four of our dogs got along well, or at least mainly so. Meg brought festive holiday scarves for our dogs, made by her friend Karen's daughters Emma and Izzy, and Jupiter, Mateo and Muchacha wore them proudly on their daily walks with Sweet Pea. Meg, Judy and Ed went to the fabulous Harkins Cine Capri to watch Quentin Tarantino's over-the-top "Django Unchained." And when we weren't eating or planning our next meal, we watched a lot of football, played with our dogs and worked hard at relaxing. All in all, it was a great time together that passed all too quickly. |
