We wisely chose to take this day relaxing at the resort. One of the activities offered to guests is outrigger canoeing. This traditional and still popular Hawaiian sport is conducted in six-person canoes. Ed took the opportunity for an early morning outing, about 10 minutes of basic instruction followed by a half hour on the water. The experience was sublime! We later enjoyed an excellent buffet breakfast at Duos, one of the restaurants at the resort. We hung out on lounge chairs overlooking the beach and later attended a cocktail and hors d'ouevres reception hosted by the general manager of the resort. We capped off a great day with an excellent steak dinner.
