The North Shore coastline between Boston and New Hampshire is full of interesting towns, each with its own distinct character. With Judy's cousin Maureen, we visited Newburyport and Plum Island, where we joined Brett, Dawn and their kids, Andrew, Ethan and Riley. Judy and I also toured historic Gloucester (think "The Perfect Storm") and charming Rockport. Alas, the end of our trip arrived all too quickly. But as we always say, the voyage home is still part of the journey. We had a relaxing drive from the Boston area to the airport in Providence (where we spotted the Tin Man on a roof), we photographed NYC from the air and, during our stopover in Baltimore to change planes, we lunched on crab cake sliders (Ed) and chicken noodle soup (Judy). Flying against the jet stream's prevailing westerly wind, the flight to Phoenix was bumpy and took longer than the flight from Phoenix to Providence. We were glad to be heading home and especially glad to retrieve our dogs Mateo and Muchacha from the boarding kennel at their vet's office. |
