| I inherited several albums of old photographs and some loose photos and letters that my mom and dad saved over the years. Many of the photos were taken in the 1940s and 1950s. Most are of descendants of Pa and his first wife, Rose, i.e. my half-siblings and their children and grandchildren. There also are some photos of me! In summer, 2022, I digitized the photos and put them online where our family can enjoy them and share them. I scanned the prints and a few negatives with my flatbed scanner. Then I retouched them as needed with Photoshop. A few of the photos are damaged beyond repair and are presented "as is" or pretty much so. Some photos are followed in the gallery by an inscription that was written on the back side of the print. The photos are organized into three sub-galleries according to how they were bundled when I received them, two "black paper" albums, some loose photos and a few that were framed. Within each set they're in no particular order, although I tried to group some related images together. In a few cases I can't identify the subject in the photo and have so noted in the photo's caption. (Please help me if you can!) Comments are enabled for these images.
