We began or journey on AZ 87, the "Beeline Highway," which connects the Phoenix metropolitan area to Payson, a mile-high town of 12,000 residents, and destinations further north. The end of our day's ride is Strawberry, a small community nestled just below the Mogollon Rim (pronounced "muggy-on"), which stretches from just southwest of Flagstaff to the White Mountains of eastern Arizona marking the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau.
