This bridge over the Columbia River connects Hood River, Oregon and White Salmon, Washington. This section of the river is a favorite windsurfing location, because of the considerable winds almost every afternoon. Part of the bridge is metal grating, and crossing it on a windy afternoon can be a real adventure. As it happens, we're not crossing this bridge today. We're heading west, along the spectacular Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway.
