Bob H. and the SLORiders organized a ride from the central coast -- or from L.A. in the case of several riders -- to Idyllwild via Lake Arrowhead. "Zonie" Stephen joined up in Arrowhead (see Stephen's cool ride video on Google, and Mike and Ed rode from the Phoenix area and met the group in Idyllwild at the end of the group's second day of riding. The next day we rode to Mt. Palomar, Borrego Springs, and Julian. On day three we rode off in various directions to our respective homes. While we were enjoying the great southern California roads and scenery, the "Esperanza Fire" near Cabazon was raging out of control after killing four brave firefighters and mortally injuring a fifth. They were very much in our thoughts.
