If one summer ride to the White Mountains was a good thing, a second one makes it doubly so. Ron, Al, Ralph and Ed took a two-day loop trip to Alpine and loved every minute of it. Click HERE for a map of our route, more or less. Breakfast at the Coronado Cafe in Safford was a winner. We dodged, and sometimes failed to dodge, rain between Glenwood NM and Alpine AZ. A delightful late afternoon ride to Blue Point Vista, south of Hannagan Meadow, capped off the day. Heading home via Springerville and the Mogollon Rim the next day, US 60 was decked out with beautiful giant sunflowers alongside the road and in huge stands covering the rolling countryside. Temperature was in the 60's and 70's: Delicious! Ice cream treats at the DQ capped off the day. Actually, the ride down the Beeline Highway did that! |
