Hi, This is a beautifully detailed picture. In fact, I live in Sharjah and am a regular visitor to the Heritage Area and I had never noticed the coloured tiles atound the roof before. So, thank you for that. However, I see that you have entitled your picture as a 'mosque'. It is not a mosque, it is, in fact, a wind tower of the old house in the Heritage Area and is the only round wind tower in the UAE - they are usually square. A wind tower is the original air-conditioning before electricity. The wind is caught in the tower and directed down into the house to cool it. I hope you appreciate that whilst it is not a mosque, it is a very important piece of architecture in the UAE and you have captured it beautifully. Thank you.
