This photo was made on the night of 1-October-2007 from the deck in back of my house. Seeing was very good but transparency was below average to poor, with thin clouds frequently interfering. NGC 7293 was low in the south, where it never gets really dark due to light pollution.
This subject needs more time, and would benefit from a darker location. This is the full frame, less edges cropped out after registration. Stars near the edges of the frame exhibit coma (tear-drop shaped distortion) inherent in fast newtonian telescopes.
You can also see aircraft navigation lights cutting across the lower right corner of the photo. These lights were present in one of the 18 frames, and their presence in the stacked result could be eliminated by additional processing. They should disappear from the result when more frames are added to the stack.
