Spiral galaxy NGC 3184 is about 40 million light years from Earth, seen from here in the constellation Ursa Major. The bright star in the photo is HD 89053, a red giant star cataloged in the Henry Draper catalog of 225,300 stars. At apparent magnitude 6.5, HD 89053 is not visible to most people's unaided eyes.
This photo was produced from 43 two minute exposures made with the ASI071MC camera and the AT8IN newtonian reflector telescope. Twenty dark frames, twenty flat frames and 20 flat dark frames were also used.
