There is an invisible line that gets crossed sometime during summer vacation. It's sneaky and it just seems to trip us up every year. Today was it. The mandatory Fall Sports meeting for all players/students was tonight. I'm ready for fall, High School football/cheer and seeing friends & family pregame hanging out in the parking lot and sitting together at the games- I'm just not ready for summer to end?

My wife's craft room looks like a Louis Vuitton knock off sweatshop in China Town right now. There are cheerleaders bedazzling their cheer bags in anticipation of cheer camp in a few weeks-it's another date on the calendar glaring at me. Add in cheer practice and this or that money is due by this or that date. All in anticipation of another school year...

Secretly, I love it. I embrace it and don't want this to end. My youngest is a Sophomore and in a blink of an eye-its over and a new chapter opens up. I guess I'll console myself taking a vacation in September and drown my sorrows on empty beaches while kids are in school.
