I have always held New York City at arms distance. All the sports teams and Big Apple and New York state of mind bullshit. It has always been over the top in your face "NYC is the best". Stupid thin pizza and Nathan's hot dogs. Whatever- it's like Chicago so stop already....

I finally had a trip there and spent the night in lower Manhattan. I was wrong... Wrong in my opinions. Wrong in my preconceived notions of "typical New Yorker" attitude. Just wrong on so many levels.... Mostly wrong on the stereotypical New York jerkiness. The people, be it a garbage man, cop, doorman, taxi driver or stockbroker were all- just nice!

While I was only there a little over 24 hours- I experienced enough that I can't wait to go back...
