Wedding Flashers

ThornCreek Winery

I offered to shoot the wedding of a friend last year and the day finally arrived today. Prepared, yes. Nervous, extremely. Success, yeah. Glad it's over? no- it was a ton of work but rewarding!

Overall I am happy with the images that were taken. The venue was great but put my Nikon D4's to the test. Shooting in the cellar of a winery with available light. What light? I was pushing ISO 8000 unless I was using light from my speed lights. The owner of the winery told me he's seen photographers cry when they quickly realized there is no "natural" light in the building. None, as in you absolutely better have a ISO 12,000 capable camera, 1.4 lens and hope everyone moves really slow while your photo'ing a mannequin challenge or know how to use flash... Fortunately I was okay and got all the pictures the Bride sought to have done. No wedding crashers, here- just flashers!
