Wind Farm

Headed up from Indianapolis, In and drove through a massive wind farm just as a storm was rolling in. It was one of those impressive lightning storms that you could just watch forever. Unfortunately, being in the middle of a wind farm at dusk in an oncoming storm it was too risky to plant my tripod in the dirt to capture the sights-I moved on before it got too close. My luck, I'd have become a statistic of one in a trillion who get struck by errant bolts of electricity.

It's a good image all the same; the huge expanse of the foreground speaks volumes about the land of the midwest, the motion blur of the blades tells the story of the wind, and the dark sky has just the right air of menace in relation to the approaching storm. Still, I think you made the right call. Even the best photograph isn't worth getting zapped over.
