Rather than a sunrise service, church or seeking eggs I took a drive to the airport to deposit my Wife and youngest at the TSA security checkpoint as they head to Disney for a few days with Kayla. Not a soul on the road as we headed to the Canton Akron airport, all of us driving or riding on in silence reflecting on the early flight, Tracy and Sarah's adventures in Florida to come. Me? I gave some thought to the whole religion thing. I won't go into the spiritual beliefs of mine but I do believe, wholly and deeply in the presence of the Lord.
I came home to an empty house. First time in 20 years no baskets, green easter grass scattered around, plastic eggs or a bowl full of hand decorated hard boiled egg's that no one ever eats. No jelly beans or peeps. Theres a few boxes of girl scout thin mints in the pantry so all hope is not lost but overall, I was excited at being a bachelor for a few days and after about 30 minutes of jamming Bruce Springsteen and planning all sorts of cool things-I realized I miss my family.
Just me and the dog standing in the kitchen while I was making breakfast and I had a sudden urge to decorate egg's. Here you are-bachelor decor!
After we ate (yes the dog counts in the "we") with a great cup of coffee in hand, I had my own quiet little sunrise Easter service on my patio. Life is good, I am thankful for all I have been given thanks to the man above...
Peace Love and Easter Blessing to you all~
