Its difficult

Having been married for over twenty years now, Tracy and I are secure in our long term relationship status. However when shopping for furniture or doing major home improvements we go from "Married" to "it's difficult" in a matter of seconds due to difference in opinions. For once in my entire relationship and after going to a number of stores we agreed on this lamp after both seeing it, immediately and mutually... Maybe I just liked it as I was just done looking at lamps? Maybe she liked it for its shape and how it bathes a room in calming light or because it came from the pages of Arhaus most recent catalog? I don't care. I love this lamp as now I don't have to shop for more lamps.

Sincerely- I like this lamp as I sit here writing this and pondering opening another bottle of wine.

I have to drag Tom into decision making. He'd rather I go pick something, which is ok for small stuff... but when it comes to something major, I'd like to get a second opinion. This looks nice and homey and the new lamp goes well with your furniture and the scale of the room.

I do like lamps and candles in the evening. Much softer light for relaxing.

Well, see, THERE'S your problem. You should have opened the bottle of wine (and indeed, more than one) BEFORE going shopping. It would have made the whole process much more painless.
Still, I love the warm, home-y illumination that this one gives out. Even the texture of the shade screams - no, perhaps "whispers" is the right term - idyllic domesticity. The glow of the fireplace and the notebook screen serve as good counterpoints to the main light. Knowing you the latter is an Apple but the picture is good enough for me to excuse that.

What ever works! I try not to get involved in these things unless it is super ugly, or will not function in the capacity for which it was chosen! It is a nice looking lamp and I approve, not that it matters! :-)
