I went to a rally in support of Police today. It was a peaceful gathering of almost 2,000 family, friends and brothers/sisters in blue supporting current and fallen police officers. Heartwarming, and very solem in it's purpose. I'd have liked to seen CNN or some of the other "big" media "news" outlets there, but it was peaceful. Who wants to report on peaceful protest? Yeah- thought so...
While at the event, I ran into a local photographer/news/media guy I know and hung out with him getting his perspectives, inside knowledge and general views from a working pro. As you can see here- they are always in the mix and on the move shooting these events. As I was told, "When in doubt, grab your 70-200 and shoot away".
Today is my last SPS (self portrait saturday) as I am ending this challenge at the end of 2014 which seems to have been the year of the "selfie". I'm tied of doing them so I'll have to figure something else out. Todays picture was done on the run- go pro camera on the fly. It's been lots of fun this year but all good things must come to an end!
