I have been slacking on my PaD this past week. Summer, work, travel, work, more work and getting ready for a family vacation next week. Flag Friday was the last thing on my mind. It's funny how little things can put you in the moment and you find yourself rummaging thru camera gear at 11:30 at night to go get a stupid picture like todays PaD.

Letting the dog out before going to bed I was standing outside while Kona sniffed around the yard looking for whatever dogs smell to pee on, don't make a production of it, just go please? As I am standing outside there is a absolute stillness to the evening that I have not felt in a long while. No cars, trains, crickets or anything, nothing at all... Just me, in my yard absorbing silence. A deafening quiet broken by me telling the dog to "hurry up, go potty". After closing the door I fell into the guilt of not putting a PaD in today so here I am close to midnight capturing the stillness. I am usually creeped out by pure quiet and silence but tonight it was welcome and needed. The only thing I heard was "click" of the shutter and now the taping of keys on my Mac as I sit here on the front porch savoring the still of the night....
