Final into Midway today was not pleasant for anyone. The aircraft was being buffeted by a 40 knot alternating head/crosswind on final. Today, these bus drivers earned their money and caught a nice 3 wire on eventually sticking this thing on the ground. Deep inside I know it's safer than driving my car but the sense of not being in control sitting in 4F feeling the plane yawing, crabbing and being jostled freaks me out…
