Certain things just go hand in hand. Good friends, old times and factor in a few beers, talk of bikes and plenty of bullshit. This equates to what few people know about the bonds of serving in the military. It's friendships define time and space.
My best friend from days gone by was in town and we had dinner and caught up over a few cold beverages celebrating all that is we have been through. Looking back amongst former shipmates, places traveled, inside jokes and both glad were not in the Navy today… I don't think they'd have us today with our snarky and jaded views of political correctness but regardless of our feelings, we toast the new generation to their safety and sacrifice and all the things the US Navy stands for.
Life is good. "Carry on" as my favorite Senior Chief would say.
