note to self

I have been spending a lot of time pushing sliders and dialing up and down values in editing programs. I am really good at sorting through some actions and plastering them on an image to "put lipstick on a pig" or as I once heard, create deep fried images.

This is a note to myself for 2014. Learn Photoshop. Learn Layers. Learn workflow.

I was inspired yesterday seeing some ordinary photos turned into extraordinary visuals by harnessing the tools available. I was also deflated yesterday when I tried to use some of these same tools to put my own spin on ordinary and create something with that "Hell Yeah" factor.

Photoshop, I hate you but I will own you someday-
Time to get my knowledge on!

Of the three goals you have for 2014, workflow is easily the most important. Without it a photographer is lost.

That is a very cool keyboard. And a clever presentation today!
I'm sure you'll figure it all out. Practice makes perfect.

Witch Craft, Voodoo, Alchemy- all of it is the same- magic…
The keyboard cover is something my wife got me for xmas to assist in cutting down on the MF's, GD's and SOB's muttered as I am "editing".

Amen, brother. But what is this witchcraft...? A PS keyboard? I've used layers for B&W conversion. I subscribed to Lynda.com and watches tons of videos. But if you don't use it often....you lose some of it.
