We finished off 2006 with a spectacular windstorm while I was on the way back from Atlanta. All well for us (apart from a medium-sized conifer doing a Pisa impression in the back garden) but many neighbours weren't so lucky. Boxing Day night, it snowed again unusually, and there are still patches around on New Year's Day as I write this.
