Family bids farewell to a beloved son and brother.

Corporal Nicholas Halchak is laid to rest
at Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock, PA,
in June 1948.

A member of L Company, 157th Infantry Regiment,
45th Infantry Division, Uncle Nick was shot in the fierce fighting at Schweinheim,
Germany, 29 March 1945. He died of his wounds at an
American field hospital in Germany on 2 April 1945.
