After a night of rain the day dawned clear and crisp, with brilliant sun and a layer of new snow at
7000 feet on the mountain. Although the new coating melted as the day progressed, it still brought the
mountain into stark contrast with the dark blue, high elevation sky. The sun also made the colors of
the bushes and even the rocks burst out. For most of these I have done little or nothing to increase
the saturation of the foliage and sky -- it was almost too intense all by itself.
