The first ten images in this gallery are from a CompactFlash card that I dropped—missing a shirt pocket—in my haste to install a blank card. Despite carefully retracing my short path, I couldn't locate the card. A year later, a friend (thanks Bob) contacted me, suspecting the card was mine. An unidentified non-photographer member of a birding group had come upon the card and passed it on to him. The card had survived deep snow, melting snow, and bleaching sun—without losing a single file. (Thanks SanDisk)
