The craneway supports provided with the Walthers kit were not sufficiently tall to work with the flat metal industry. In order to “lengthen” them, Evergreen H-column (284 - large leg) and Plastruct styrene T (90562 -small leg) were glued to the legs. These legs were re-inforced by piano wire (0.039 large leg and 0.32 small leg) glued to the webbing of the respective legs so that it would not be visible from the aisle side. These were mass produced.
