Just wanted to say thanks for your compliments on my Visions of Greece Gallery. I saw the thread on DPReview where you pointed some folks to my Greece pictures when asked about the 28-135 Lens, which I used for many of those photos. When it comes to gear, I think Michael Reichmann at Luminouslandscape.com said it best "Most lenses are better than most photographers". While it's important to have tools that are capable of doing the job, most of the gear talk you hear these days about 'good copies and bad copies of lenses,etc, is IMHO mostly BS. Bottom line is if you know what you're doing, you can get good photos without having the absolute best equipment, but it just makes things a little more challenging. Fantastic Gallerys! I'm curious, are you from Houston? on one of the signs in your rodeo shots, it looks like it says Montgomery County. I live in Atlanta GA now but grew up in Wharton County TX near the towns of El Campo and Louise. anyway I use to ride cutting horses and do some calf roping so thanks for taking me back to my rodeo days.
