Due to the high amount of snow this Winter, and a very late, wet Spring, the river was running very fast and high. Normally, on this stretch of the river, vegetation and many sandbars are visible in the middle of the river. The river is flowing 18,800 cubic feet of water per second. Normal for this time of year is about 8000 cfps.
