Used a dead beetle as bait to coax her up to range.

Up close and personal with the Widow-maker! Looks like the shot is close to 1:1? I'm not sure how large these are. In any case, you are brave for getting close to it. I like that you can see the classic hourglass design so clearly and even web coming out of her abdomen (I think). The direct flash lighting is fairly harsh, though. ---Chris

She was in an abandoned plastic electrical conduit on a lawn. Beware of where you put your fingers. Several times she was "instantly" in view and I could not see how she had gotten there. web52
