Thanks anyways Chris - this is a question probably better suited for the forums, although I think I may have a finger on what the problem may be - I think the actual JPEG compression from PSD (which is what I use to edit and save my originals), is changing my color profile from the original aRGB (Adobe) to sRGB (standard). This is the only image I've had this problem with (ie workflow color inconsistencies) and am actually quite surprised given the # of variables involved in keeping consistent color space.

Wish I could help you with the PP issues, Jason----not really my area of expertise. Perhaps someone else can advise? ---Chris

Thanks for the comments Chris ... I did this in kind of a hurry and was well aware of the left background distraction ... what's funny is that the overexposed chunk of apple doesn't appear in my uncompressed psd version and actually the entire image was much darker before my JPEG conversion - maybe it's my colorspacing? I shot and edited in aRGB ... but after I optimized for web in imageready to jpeg (max quality, bicubic) I got the washed out chunk of apple in the middle and a overall much brighter pic (as if the gamma has been adjusted) ... the B&W background, along with the distracting blurb on the left, is barely visible in the original ... ??? Maybe I should recompress with TIFF? Thanks - Jason

Ewww---that's nasty! Nice composition, though there is something in the background on the left that's a little distracting. I'd also like to get a little better angle on the razor blade---maybe spin the apple a little counter-clockwise? Lighting is nice, though there are some overexposed areas on the left of the apple. ---Chris
