Locust Thorn by Chris

Shenandoah Valley, Virginia

A thorn on a locust tree in the yard of my workshop. Although, I had plenty of thistles across the road to choose from - it was richness of colors in this shot that I like.

The lighting was natural - the trick was to use one hand to move the limb to catch the light just right as I shot. The extra benefit was to declutter the background.

Hi Chris, nice use of the DOF to bring the eye to the point of the thorn. Seems jsut a tad soft. Good selecton of subject matter. Nice natural colors and I agree with the richness rendered.

EXIF data says no flash was used? How did you do the lighting?
