Bought this rose today so I could photograph it and place that photo here... and then enjoy it for several more days in a vase.

Very pretty. I would have personally liked to have seem a touch more DOF. This subject also would have been a great one for your Canon 100mm Macro lens. Still, very pretty flower. Plus the shot does have an interesting and artsy effect with the soft edges.

Oh, that is really lovely, Dale! Shooting at 250mm and f/6.3 it is still nicely blurred in the edges while still being nice and sharp where it should be. Did you soften the outside parts at all? Very nice image!
