Great Egret

A white bird on dark water will often come out overexposed as a camera will try to
lighten up the dark water. I used negative exposure compensation before shooting, at -.7 step
which is 2/3 stop of underexposure to protect the highlights in the white feathers.
Hmm - on Pbase it still looks like some of the whites are blown,
but they don't when I look at the histogram in PS Elements.

1/2500s f/7.1 at 420.0mm iso250
with Nikkor 1.4 TC full exif
