02 - Horrible Thistle

I took a lot of photos of horrible thistles in 2016 watching them from their birth through their death. In this one I had a white canvas behind the plant so I could see it in all its glory.

My favorite of your four photos. This combines the control of studio work with the awe of Nature photography. Lovely light and details and composition and balance. Very nicely shot.

Love this - it almost looks like a painting. The colors are beautiful and the thistle is very sharp and clear.
