On my walk this morning, I could not help but notice all of the trash that was put out after Christmas.
It seems that we spend so much time planning for, buying for and getting presents that we don't think about the day after.
I look at all the trash - boxes, bags, trashcans and recycle bins - all full and sitting on the curb waiting to be taken away.
To me, it's sad. Have we become so ingrained that we have to have "stuff" and sometimes forget the people?
Often, the day after Christmas is a letdown for many people.
They may not have gotten the present(s) they wanted.
Their family couldn't stay as long as they would like.
Maybe their family wasn't able to come at all.
Is Christmas Day really as special as it once was? Or is it just another way to generate more trash?
